Civic involvement is the responsibility of all citizens. It is of paramount importance to be educated on the issues affecting our lives and to vote in a responsible manner.

Welcome to my blog The Informed Citizen. I formed this blog in response to the political discourse I observed during the 2016 Presidential election. It became apparent very quickly that civic education and involvement in local elections,not just national ones, is vital to having a strong nation. Things like facts and the truth matter. Information and knowing things matter. Being involved in your community and civic participation matters. And so, The Informed Citizen is my attempt to give a voice to  these priorities and to use social media in an attempt to mobilize people for the common good of us all. We can no longer be silent and apathetic.
